History » While other kids her age have embarked on long journeys to become League Champions, Nadeko has chosen not to become a trainer, instead making plans to study Pokemon breeding or Pokemon nursing. People who know Nadeko describe her as a soft-spoken girl with a heart of gold and no doubt, her sweet and caring disposition shows in her love for Pokemon. Nadeko dislikes seeing Pokemon get hurt and thus does not understand the attraction that Pokemon training and battling hold for many people. In spite of this, she continues to treat Pokemon trainers she meets kindly, if a little timidly, and is unable to reject friends when they invite her to watch high-profile Pokemon battles on TV.
Nadeko also realizes that besides her aversion towards Pokemon battles, she has other limitations which would prevent her from becoming a good Trainer. A traumatic experience with a wild Ekans led to her developing a fear of snake Pokemon. The run-in with the wild Pokemon is also what prompted her parents to give her Absol so that she would be able to defend herself on her own when they were not around. Although she is no longer as terrified of them as she was in her younger days, she still feels uncomfortable dealing with snake Pokemon and is concerned that her discomfort with them will affect her ability as a breeder or nurse.
Since young, she has been an avid fan of the dancers who regularly perform at the Kimono Dance Hall in her hometown and is captivated by their gracefulness and skills as dancers and Trainers. However, because of her lack of confidence in her ability to become a capable Pokemon trainer as is required of a Kimono Girl, she had to let go of her dream of joining the Dance Hall for training. Still, it appears that she has not fully relinquished her dream yet as she often practises the dance performances, which she learns by imitating what she sees on stage, on her own.
Besides going to school in Violet City, Nadeko has never left Ecruteak City and is a rather sheltered child. On one hand, she often daydreams about visiting other cities and getting close to new Pokemon and on the other, she is reluctant to leave Ecruteak as she would then have to leave her parents behind.
